Immerse yourself in the world of improv for a journey of interactive self-discovery, personal growth, empowerment and joy - discover the untapped potential within you. During this low-stress experience, you will develop skills to manage your anxiety and awareness in a different way. Through laughter, collaborative play, and spontaneity, we will share and use the principles of improvisation to create a safe and supportive atmosphere of non-judgement and acceptance for participants to step outside of their comfort zones. You will discover the power of embracing the present moment, redefining mistakes as opportunities and navigating uncertainty with confidence as we engage in a series of carefully selected improvisational exercises and games.
No prior improv or performance experience is required. This class is not therapy and should not replace therapy. Come rediscover your inner playfulness!

Donna Boyd (she/her) is a teaching artist and VCUarts graduate. While earning her Bachelors of Fine Arts, she discovered her passion for physical comedy by finding that clown allowed her to free her inhibitions and connect deeply with herself. Post college, she traveled to Etampes, France to study with clown legend, Phillipe Gaulier, during his two week clown intensive. She frequently performs and uses her clown skills in Richmond through improv with her team; Closed on Mondays. Donna has also spent her post grad years teaching all ages about the art of clowning and improv through 8 week courses, directing, summer camps, and workshops.
SCHOOL LEAGUES
Our school age programs are designed to teach kids cooperation, collaboration, kindness, and creativity through the basic elements of storytelling, characters and interactive play. Our popular summer Improv Comedy Camps are when we offer the most classes for school aged kids.
Throughout the year, we offer weekly Elementary, Middle and High School League® ComedySportz® programs.
