LEARN IMPROV WITH RICHMOND'S LONGEST RUNNING IMPROV THEATER

SUMMER 2022 IMPROV CLASSES

THURSDAY 7-9PM

July 14 - Sept 8

In Improv 101, we will learn the basics of improv comedy, focusing on agreement, safety, active listening, commitment, and being present in the moment. The lessons taught in this course improve presentation skills and public speaking, social skills and conflict management, and, of course, on-stage decision-making and humor, so whether your goal is to give the best speech at your sister’s wedding or to get on stage as a Major League ComedySportz player, we can help. You’ll learn practical ways to build teamwork and trust, all while making people laugh and having a lot of fun! If you’ve never done improv before, or you’d like to revisit the fundamentals of short-form (game-based) improv in an inclusive, safe, and fun environment, this class is for you. The class ends in a showcase for friends and family.

Build on your foundational improv skills in this short-form (game-based) class. You will improve abilities in teamwork and trust, active listening, and being present in the moment, with a focus on collaboration and safety. Continue learning the fundamentals of improv, whether your ultimate goal is giving better presentations at work or to become a ComedySportz mainstage player. The class ends in a showcase for friends and family.

Participants are entitled to join CSz Recreational League when enrolled in CSz Improv 201 or higher.

WEDNESDAY 7-9PM

July 13 - Sept 7

Continue to grow your foundational improv skills and establish a strong stage presence in this short-form (game-based) class. In this course, you will build confidence, teamwork, and timing, while learning to tell inspiring stories. Expand on your fundamentals of improv, whether your ultimate goal is to become a compelling public speaker or to become a ComedySportz mainstage player. The class ends in a showcase for friends and family.

Prerequisite CSz Improv 201 or equivalent.
