We are officially in the home stretch!
In just a few days—Saturday, April 11th—the stage at CSz Richmond will look a lot different. The lights will go up, the "Yes-Balloons" will be ready, and I will be sitting in a chair waiting for the buzz of the clippers.
I’ve spent the last week talking about why I’m doing this. I’ve shared my journey as a cancer survivor and the incredible 19-year legacy of this theater. But today, I’m talking about the finish line.
The Gap We Are Closing
Every year, we talk about the 4%. It’s a small number with a massive impact. Because only 4% of federal cancer research funding goes to pediatric cases, we rely on the "angels of change"—people like you—to bridge the $20 million gap in life-saving research grants.
When we hit our fundraising goals, we aren't just hitting a number on a screen. We are quite literally buying time. We are funding the "smart" treatments that allow kids to grow up without the devastating long-term side effects of adult-strength chemo.
Where We Stand (And the Color Reveal!)
My personal goal is $1,500, and I'm 60% of the way there. Thanks to those folks who have funded the fleece flying happening this Saturday. Overall, we are just north of 68% of the way to our collective goal of $20,000. You can help make a difference with your donation. Each drop makes a ripple.
As of right now, the votes for my hair color are close.
This is your last chance to have a say. If you haven’t donated yet, or if you want to push your favorite color into the lead, now is the time. Every donation is a vote, and every vote is a step closer to a cure. Whether it’s Pink, Blue, Purple, or Red, I will be sporting the winning shade on stage right before it all hits the floor.
How to Join Us
You don’t have to shave your head to be a part of this, but it's an experience not to be missed! You just have to say "Yes, And."
Yes, childhood cancer is a problem.
And I am going to help solve it.
You can support us by buying a ticket to the show. Come watch the Fleeces Fly! You can change the show by buying the rights to mess with us with a donation.
And you still have time to vote for what color you want my hair to be. Just drop it in the comments section of this blog (or post if that's where you are seeing this) after you donate.
April 11th. The clippers are coming. Let’s finish the job.
