Parents have one helluva job. It’s easy to get caught up in the seriousness of those everyday challenges that naturally arise in caring for and protecting our children. When difficulties become overwhelming and parenting feels thankless, we might find ourselves playing the constant disciplinarian at the expense of the full potential we know we’re capable of offering. By remembering how to play, we learn to connect, teach, and inspire our children in more positive, meaningful, and fulfilling ways.

Not your average girl’s night, this evening is all about letting your hair down in a positive, playful environment that leaves judgement (and spit-up) at the door. In order to show up for our loved ones, we have to first show up for ourselves - and this night is all about championing our brightest, most sparkly selves. Decompress, laugh, and say all the things you can’t at home. Who run the world? Moms.

The exciting spirit of playfulness comes easily in the beginning of our relationships because we’re existing in the moment of something new. When relationships becomes familiar, we’re conditioned to expect and respond, sometimes before we’ve actually digested what’s truly in front of us. In realizing that each and every moment we live is new, we can practice the importance of truly listening, connecting, and responding to the now - sparking our ability to play, and empowering us to have our partner’s back.

Get out of you head and into your heart. Stop thinking and overthinking it. Get over the fear of who you think you are, get over who you think you need to be.

Turn off the TV and engage in multidimensional games that activate the best in each member of the household. Playing together as a family teaches us to work together as a family, laying the groundwork for more positive collaboration and communication within the family unit. Learn games and principles you can take home with you, where no one wins or loses, and everyone laughs.

Permission to color outside of the lines. Remember how fun life can be. Stop taking yourself so seriously. Kids get recess, when was your last recess?
