Just like in any professional sport, ComedySportz® has a Major League for the professional players, Recreational Leagues for the aspiring adults, and School Leagues for the kids. The ComedySportz® Richmond team would like to invite you to be a part of our leagues!
MAJOR LEAGUE
Our ComedySportz® Major League® is the team you see every Saturday night. They are the trained improv professionals, bringing you the absolute top tier of improv comedy. Our team practices regularly every week, plays matches every weekend, and has participated in the ComedySportz® World Championships for over 25 years!
Twice a year, we hold tryouts that are open to the public. If you're interested in joining our Major League, please feel free to contact beth@cszrva.com with any questions, or subscribe to our emails at the bottom of this page to keep informed about the next date for tryouts.
HIGH SCHOOL
LEAGUE
High Schoolers from all across the Greater Richmond area practice weekly to perfect their skills as RVA's next generation of professional improvisers. The ComedySportz® Richmond High School League® is a great place for youth to learn skills that build self confidence and help them work with others on a team in a fun & positive environment.
2024 Summer Season for High School League runs Mondays, June 10 through August 26, 7 to 9PM. No classes December 25 or January 1. Matches are July 15 and August 26 at 7:30PM.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
LEAGUE
Our Middle School League brings all the benefits found in the other leagues to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Kids from school systems across the region meet weekly to learn and play together in our theater. Our Major League instructors bring the basics of improv and beyond to these students.
2024 Spring Season for Middle School League runs Fridays, March 15 through June 7, from 5 to 6:30PM. Showcase is June 7 at 5:30PM. This season is full. Please join the waitlist for any possible openings.
ELEMENTARY

Our Elementary School League brings all the benefits found in the other leagues to 2nd-5th graders. Kids from school systems across the region meet weekly to learn and play together in our theater. Our Major League instructors bring the basics of improv and beyond to these students.
